Clone Wars Reflection
1) What is the strongest part (visual area) of your finished art piece? Why?
The strongest part of my finished piece is probably the left side of my piece. That is where most of the action is going on , and I think your eye just naturally wants to look in that general area to see the reactions of the clones. From there I think the eye works it's way towards the back/right of the picture. I especially like how well I was able to blend all of the clones into the same area while still having a (generally) clear picture that doesn't have strange mistakes that are easily noticeable.
2) What part (visual area) of your art piece can be improved on? How can it be improved on?
Just next to the clone farthest to the right is a small area that I couldn't really blend well. With all of the seats in the stadium it is hard to distinguish if something is wrong or not, but the seats around that clone don't line up too well, and the back of the seat he is sitting in is not fully blended correctly. It is easily visible because there is a very rigid cut where the top layer stops and the layer below it begins. I definitely would have gone back to fix it, but due to time constraints I figured that it was small enough to go unnoticed.
3) What Tools did you use to create your work? How did you use these tools? Explain
For this piece I really only used 2-3 tools. To move and shape the images I just used the move tool, and I used the brush tool and layer masks to make it seem as if there were multiple versions of me. The layer masks allowed me to basically cut holes into one layer so that the layer below could be seen while still appearing to be on the same visual plane. Therefore it looks as though there are are multiple versions of me in different places.
4) What was easy about this art activity? Explain.
The easiest part of this activity was using the layer masks and the brush tool to create "clones" of myself throughout the image. It was a little difficult to learn how to use the layer masks, but once I figured it out it was relatively easy.
5) What was difficult about this art activity? Explain.
The hardest part of this activity was lining up all the pictures I wanted, so that they would work with the other images. For example, some images I had would have looked nice in this project, but certain parts of the image(i.e. the railings or seats) did not line up well, and much more work would have been required to make it all work. Therefore I had to leave some images out of this project.
6) Describe how you demonstrated each of the objectives (goals) of this art activity?
For one. I took over 30 pictures and ended up using only six for this project. Secondly, I was able to "Create a Composite photo of 5 or more images using the layer mask tool to merge them all", so I think I accomplished all of the goals for this project.
7) If you could do this assignment again, what would you do differently?
If I could do this project over again I would make sure all of my pictures lined up as best as I could. One of the biggest pains in the butt about this project was how hard it was to line up the pictures, and how I couldn't use some of my pictures because they were to far of from the others, and if I wanted to make them work I woulds have to change a lot of the things I had already done.
8) On a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best), how would you rate your effort in this project? Why?
On a scale of 1-10 I would rate my effort on this project a 9. I would give myself a 9 because I accomplished all of the goals for the project, and I think my piece came out well. However I think I took a lot of time doing this project because I procrastinated in getting my pictures so I had to work a little faster to get things done on time.
